Following a staggering seven original releases in 2019 alone on the likes of Kitsuné
Musique and Boys Next Door, über-talented French-Polynesian singer and multi-
instrumentalist Pastel now looks to kick off the new decade in the same emphatic
fashion, as he unveils his impossibly smooth new single, ‘Let You’.

Out now, ‘Let You’ sees the remarkable London-based talent – often touted as the
next FKJ – continue from where he left off, as he delivers another flawless, funked-
up vocal cut, this time alongside long-time friend and Taiwanese artist, Haoting.
Speaking about the pair’s debut collaboration and how it came about, Pastel
commented:
‘I was playing in Taipei for the New Year, staying with my good friend Haoting. We
hadn't seen each other about a year and the energy around us was really strong. We
immediately started working on ‘Let You’ and everything just came so naturally – the
song was made in a week between noodle soup and some shooting for Haoting's
band. We had a goal to finish it before I was leaving the country but by the end of the
trip I had to go to an emergency dentist for a horrible tooth ache! I had to sing a few
of the vocals with the worse pain ever, but luckily you can’t hear that in the finished
track!’
Having already remixed records for the likes of Camila Cabello, Bazzi, Otzeki and
Jarreau Vandal to name a few, and with his hit track ‘Floating’ having garnered over
a million plays on Spotify in less than six months, Pastel draws his musical inspiration
from across a wide range of genres and international traditions including Neo-soul,
Bossa Nova and late 60’s music.
Pastel – Let You (Feat. Haoting) is out now, with an official music video to follow
soon.
