(Los Angeles, CA – December 5, 2023) Richmond, VA-to-LA rapper, producer, and vocalist Peter $un today delivered his last release of the year on Red Bull Records/Mind of a Genius. Off his infectious summer EP, 3PIECE, the groovy lead single “MY FAVORITE DRUG” received the remix treatment from the likes of UK tastemaker Blinkie, DMV scene-shapers Jae Murphy and Uncle Kizzy, and the goddess of rhythm, Karen Nyame KG. Each version breathes new life into the track, from chill lo-fi vibes, to percussive Amapiano, to unadulterated house made for the dance floor. The four-pack showcases the global versatility of Sunny’s sound while celebrating the authentic stylings of each producer on the project.
Sunny shares, “It’s really fire to see various producers’ perspectives on ‘MY FAVORITE DRUG.’ Sonically, the different energies are amazing and I feel like they’re all perfect for whatever mood you’re in at that moment. Blinkies’ mix sets the tone for my upbeat energy, while Uncle Kizzy’s slower, intimate mix can be a vibe with your lady friend or mans in quieter moments.”
Blinkie adds, “As soon as I heard the original version of this track, the chords for the remix came to me. I wanted to keep the soul of the original but put my spin on it.”
This year has proven to be one of growth and evolution for Sunny, following his deeply personal Phone Calls Gimme Anxiety project. Leaning into a more optimistic sound, 3PIECE packs a punch with its bouncy flows and addictive basslines, radiating the feel-good tones from the summer. In August, the EP track “BURN LIKE FIRE” got its own moment to shine as Sunny performed a special live rendition for SpringHill’s “On Site” YouTube series. Later that month, he partnered with Red Bull Media House and Ghetto Film School to share his story behind “PERFECT TIMING” in a short film titled $unny Daze, directed by rising LA-based filmmaker, Lexx Truss. Today’s remix package keeps the dynamic energy of “MY FAVORITE DRUG” flowing into next year, with more to come from Sunny soon.

About Peter$un
Peter $un commits all of his emotions, thoughts, and truths to tape. He never holds back. The Richmond-born and Los Angeles-based rapper, vocalist, and producer confronts his trauma, discloses his ambitions, and embraces his potential over a soundtrack of future-facing hip-hop laced with eloquent jazz-style instrumentation and filled to the brim with undeniable soul. As a kid, he fell in love with music. Dad worked late and often returned home around midnight. However, he would put a four-year-old Sunny on his chest and listen to jazz on the radio as his son slept. Eventually, mom introduced Sunny to D’Angelo before he discovered Tupac on his own. He initially gravitated to sports, playing basketball and excelling on the baseball field. In high school, a friend recognized he could sing and encouraged him, so he picked up a mic. He gained traction with the 2016 mixtape Paradise Is A Day Away. Joined by producer and longtime collaborator Blue Rondo, he unveiled Don’t Forget To Smile in 2018. About Blinkie
In 2015 Blinkie burst onto the scene with his debut single “Don’t Give Up (On Love).” Since then he has had some great releases under his belt including What you want, Save Me, Must be Love and Little Love – which was featured in the popular UK TV show Love Island as well as being featured in The Guardian’s list of ‘Songs of the Summer’. Along the way, Blinkie has earned radio support from Diplo, Nick Grimshaw, Scott Mills, MistaJam, Reece Parkinson, Jordan North and DJ Target across BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra.
As well as his own artist project, Blinkie has worked closely with a number of super talented artists. Blinkie recently earned his first UK top 20 and top 40 records having produced Bugzy Malone’s stand out track M.E.N III and co-produced the massive collaboration between Bugzy Malone and Chip.

About Karen Nyame KG
For nearly a decade, Karen Nyame KG has been an innovative and percussive luminary of dance music. Dubbed as the “Goddess of Rhythm”, KG’s plethora of African polyrhythms, low-end sub-basses, and energetic drum patterns are surefire to showcase the evolving sound of London’s club music hybridity and bounce. Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce label released her standout collab single with UNIIQU3 titled, B2B / Black Roses at the end of 2020. Following that, the summer soaked ‘Sensei II’ EP on Black Acre Records took things to a new level and has now surpassed 2m streams; covering everything from the empowerment of women, to love, sexuality and desire, high vibrations, and partying and beyond. Her sound firmly rooted in the African diaspora, KG wanted the essence of ‘back home’ to be felt throughout the whole project.
Taking cues from a musically rich adolescence, her musical sphere is entrenched with those cut from the same cloth–collaborating with prolific acts across global and diasporic club music genres from South African Amapiano to US Jersey Club. Recently tearing the house down at Primavera Sound Festival with her iconic Boiler Room session, and the guest RA’s first ever filmed Exchange, KG has also turned in widely acclaimed mixes for tastemakers including FACT, Dekmantel, Trippin’, as well as radio shows for BBC 1Xtra, NTS, Foundation FM & others. A keen collaborator, KG has traversed global sounds from Amapiano, Afrohouse, UK Funky, US Jersey Club and beyond, working with prolific artists including Uniiqu3, Dance System, Toya Delazy, Mista Silva, Aymos and many more. As well as previously having run a series of production workshops with Red Bull Music, in 2021, KG received a PRS Grant as part of the new PRS Power Up initiative – a long-term initiative created to support Black music creators and industry pro’s, as well as addressing racial disparities in the music sector. Following the powerful statement single, ‘Taboo’ which landed in many end of year lists, 2023 sees KG launch the brand new imprint ‘Rhythm In the City’, with its first release the ‘RED EP’ a sentimental, candid insight to KG’s deepest musings on romance, passion and lust. Self-described as “a party for the grown and sexy”, Rhythm in the City began life as an event, carefully curated by Karen herself. Developing into a sell-out event series, the strong community around RITC is a testament to Karen’s bold creative vision and her much sought-after sonics.
