“Hailing from a small town of Hollidaysburg, PA, pluko A.K.A Sam Martinsen has gained recognition from his original mixes on Soundcloud and other streaming services garnering over 50 million plays …From his home studio to the main stage, pluko’s bass-filled beats and chill-wave music is catching the attention of veterans across the music scene. They say that expertise comes with experience and at the rate that pluko is going, he is going to be taking over the charts in no time.” — FLAUNT
Today, Friday, May 31, pluko returns with the CLASS XIX mixtape, 100% written, produced, mixed, and mastered by himself via his own new label Splendid Socieity. Today’s date is also the day of his high school graduation from the class of 2019 and follows his 19th birthday by one week (May 24).
pluko’s music – like Flume, ODEZSA (who signed him to their Foreign Family label last year to release his debut album sixteen) and Rufus Du Sol—plays to beautiful emotion. Says pluko on his new eight-track collection of music since releasing last year’s sixteen, “CLASS XIX is my kickoff to summer 2019. I wanted the vibe to be something that you can just throw on and bump to no matter where you are and what you’re doing. I wanted to write a mixtape that had a song for every type of fan out there. As the text on the cover says, I just wanted to make music for the world to listen to in the sun. Music that puts a smile on your face 🙂 This mixtape also drops on my graduation day, so it comes at a moment of a lot of change. But change is good. Change means that growth is happening. And I want this to grow into the most beautiful thing that I can possibly make it.”
