April 3rd, 2023 — Breakout bass producer Dr. Ushūu returns to Monstercat Uncaged today with his heavy-hitting dubstep single, “Don’t Let Me Down.” The record encapsulates his genre-bending musical domain, with an exuberant sound design bridging colossal drops, gritty stabs, and his signature colourful chords. The track arrives as an exemplary pick-me-up with its uplifting melodies, a title aptly named after one of Dr. Ushūu’s personal affirmations, and will serve bass aficionados the ultimate speaker-shattering listening experience. The bassmonger will bring the Ushūuverse to multiple events this year, including Tomorrowland, Forbidden Kingdom, and more.

Dr. Ushūu shares, “’Don’t Let Me Down’ serves as a reminder to not let myself down. Through the years, I have faced disappointment, and this track encapsules the letdowns and above all, a persistence that only I can control, as if to say, everyone else can let me down but me.”
Dr. Ushūu shows no signs of slowing down in 2023; recently playing at Monstercat’s stage takeover for Rampage last month, he’s gearing up for multiple deck takeovers this year including his Tomorrowland debut and return to Rampage Open Air. North American fans don’t have to wait much longer to catch him live, as he will make his much-awaited debut in June at Forbidden Kingdom, going B2B alongside bass producer SweetTooth. A master of his craft, last year saw him land on multiple “Artists To Watch” lists, while this year he earned a full-page feature in DJ Mag. With a slew of tastemaking names he can count on for support – including Martin Garrix, Excision, Kayzo, Modestep, Ray Volpe, and Illenium, 2023 is bound to be the biggest year for the Ushūuverse.
Dr. Ushūu Bio
From the suburbs of the city of lights, emerges Dr. Ushūu, a rare blend of joviality, experience and innovation. He started in 2014 under the name d.c.r, but it wasn’t until 2017 that the doctor found himself being supported by the likes of Ookay, Martin Garrix and Nicky Romero with his future bass beats. But it still wasn’t enough. Tired of making future bass, Dr. Ushūu drifted towards the bass music universe, where he has remained since, pushing the limits of space to bold new places no one has gone before. Ivory, Samplifire, Gladez, Bandlez and more have already been abducted by the Ushūu spaceship and probed by his mesmerizing energy and filthy vibes. You best prepare yourself too, Dr. Ushūu is out to conquer new worlds with every release.
