Seasoned remixer Matt Edwards, AKA Radio Slave, closes out his Rekids label’s 2024 with three reimaginations of some of the imprint’s biggest tracks of the year, extending the runtime of all versions beyond the ten-minute mark for wonderfully expansive journeys reminiscent of Edwards’ early dub days.

Moodena & Charles Levine’s ‘Badman’ is up first, with Radio Slave stripping it of its larger-than-life classic House sounds and turning it into a low-slung hypnotic ‘Tell Me Something’ dub. He reworks Man Power & Louisahhh’s ‘We Trawl The Hurts’ next, an introspective trip with daydream piano keys and an irresistible organic groove. Finally, Rekids favourite Hilit Kolet and her ‘Snap Talk’ face Edwards’ deep, chord-infused drums, welded seamless and smooth with Kameelah Waheed’s iconic vocal from the original.
Radio Slave ‘Rekids’ Remixes is classy business from a remix veteran still at the top of his game after more than twenty years.
