Swedish electronic post punk artist REIN teams up with French DJ / producer Djedjotronic (Jérémy Cottereau) for an all out relentless assault on our senses with the arrival of the brand new ‘Transmutation EP’, out this March through Boysnoize Records.
The EP features two original tracks ‘Transmutation’, ‘Automation’ and remixes by Unklevon and Pablo Bozzi. They say: “We wanted the songs on the EP to be cold and mechanical. We were inspired by the movie “Metropolis” when REIN wrote the lyrics to ‘Transmutation’, where the woman turns into a machine and starts dancing. The song ‘Automation’ is inspired about going into battle. These two songs are the unwanted offspring between Trent Reznor and Gerald Donald. The evil twin’s of their worst nightmares”.
REIN bio:
REIN is the Stockholm based award nominated electronic project by Joanna Reinikainen. The artist, singer, producer, songwriter and label owner of REIN RECORDINGS. She was kicking off her career in 2016, came out of nowhere with her self-titled EP and following through with the “Freedoom” EP in 2017 were she collaborated with the death electro founder (Owl Vision). The EP was sold out in three days.
REIN has since amassed positive critical reception in her home country and got signed by Playground Music Scandinavia in 2016. Her unique sound and style led to two P3 Guld nominations (Swedish National Radio P3) in the categories “Newcomer of the Year” and “Dance of the Year” in 2017. In 2018 she got nominated for the song of the year for “Missfit” and live act of the year by the GAFFA Prize.
Her hard-edged, empowerment music has drawn influences from various styles from electronic music with raw and poetic lyrics. 2020 was the year she released her critically acclaimed full-length debut LP “REINCARNATED” released by REIN RECORDINGS, were she collaborated with co- producer and Swedish grammy award winner Carli Löf. SKAP (Sweden’s music creators & composers organization) gave her the prize for best electro of the year. REINCARNATED got nominated by the GAFFA prize for best album of the year. The LP on Bandcamp was sold out within weeks.
In 2021 she released her critically acclaimed song ”Dystopia” as a single and released REINCARNATED as a short movie / medley on Youtube and a livestream from her audio-visual show at FutureRetro in Stockholm. In the end of 2021 she also released ”Reincarnated dub mixes Vol.1” with one of the biggest names of the electro-house scene, Boys Noize, who did three re-worked tracks from her debut REINCARNATED released by Boys Noize Records.

In September 2018, Djedjotronic publishes on Boysnoize Records his first album sailing between Electronic Body Music (Cops), Kraftwerkish atmospheres (Avatars Have No Organs) and analog techno (R.U.R). He even offers the intervention of Douglas Mc Carthy (from the legendary band Nitzerr Ebb) on the track ‘Take Me Down’, shortly followed by his critically acclaimed ‘Cruising EP’ on Sheffield based Central Processing Unit Records. Djedjotronic latest EP ‘Boish’ was released in 2020 followed by ‘The Great Red Spot’ on Jensen Interceptor’s label International Chrome Records in 2021
