London-based duo REMIXIA, made up of Emilia Boateng and Rebecca Adomakoh, debuts on connected with ‘Floating’, releasing March 6th. REMIXIA’S sound is rooted in Afro-electronic music, stretching the dynamics of House and Techno. The clubnight SORO Sounds, run by REMIXIA, is dedicated to celebrating dance culture in Accra, Ghana, and London, UK, and creating a community that connects diasporic sounds with dance floors. Performing at events in cities around the world, from Pacha, KOKO Electronic, and Paris Fashion Week, REMIXIA has shared stages with Rampa, Black Coffee, Desiree, Shimza, and more.
‘Floating’ is a charged club tool, commanding bass centres the track as atmospheric pads and melodic synths rain through. The track is levitated by sultry vocals and blinding chords, creating a platform for rhythmic percussion to dance on. REMIXIA will be doing a SORO Sounds party at venue Kave in London on March 5th to celebrate the release.
