Exciting young new school innovator Spooky Cash-Cash has been hooked on dance culture since being left alone with turntables before he even hit his teens. In the years since, his passion for house music has deepened and his production chops have been honed while he has DJed everywhere from Glastonbury to Motion in Bristol to Ibiza. The first release on his new label represents the two sides of Spooky Cash Cash’s sound – the peak time and the sundown, and future releases will continue with that day and night theme.
Irresistible opener ‘Ravers Choice’ was a highlight of a defining DJ set on the Valley Stage at Wilderness last year. It got huge reactions and has remained a secret weapon ever since. It is powered by chunky drums and vast bass blasts, with subtle vocal stabs and a grinding lead that keeps things moving with raw energy.
The magnificent ‘Together’ was debuted at Spooky’s sundown Cafe Mambo set last summer, and after originally being written on the piano, it became a more electro-tinged jam once worked up in the studio. It is grand in scale and epic in emotion, with sweeping, sombre chords arcing over a delicate, Bicep-style breakbeat. Add in hints of yearning vocal samples and you have something sure to soundtrack some special dance floor moments.
