Kaleta & Robert PM’s ‘Télémi’ on Robert’s toucan sounds is a wonderfully sunny sound with bustling Afro rhythms and standout High-Life guitar licks. Impassioned vocals light things up further as this most authentic, horn-laced, and life-affirming sound rattles on with infectious energy. Life On Planets is a sophisticated groove master who finds a perfect sweet spot between depth and drama when producing. His romantic, artful, and indie-leading sounds have landed on the likes of Heist Recordings and NO ART, with this remix layering in more club-ready grooves and some sweeping cosmic synths but keeping the flavor of the original to make for a brilliantly original new sound.
Leon “Kaleta” Ligan-Majekodunmi is a singer and multi-instrumentalist who has played with Fela Kuti‘s famous ensemble and legendary JuJu and World Music singer King Sunny Ade. He has helped shape the famous High-Life sounds since the 70s and is a peerless guitarist who brings his unique magic to the fore here. On ‘Télémi,’ he collaborates with Robert PM, who has been shaping the Brooklyn scene since the late 00s—firstly with his brother David (also co-owner of their YouTooCanWoo Studios) as GRAMMY-shortlisted indie dance outfit French Horn Rebellion, who remixed the likes of Beyoncé and Sia and produced MGMT’s debut EP, but also as producer/writer including cuts with EDM stars Eli Brown, Jerome, Autograf, Sarah DeWarren, and underground juggernauts musclecars, Dee Diggs, Byron the Aquarius and many more.
