It follows recent singles ‘Half Awake’, ‘Lovers Freestyle’ & ‘Off The Rails Freestyle’
Exciting young UK rapper Romell returns with new single ‘Yesterday’s Problems’, out 30th July.
Pairing smooth, downbeat production with Romell’s instantly recognisable baritone flow, ‘Yesterday’s Problems’ is an ode to overcoming adversity and looking to the future. It marks his fourth single release of 2021, following ‘Off The Rails Freestyle’,‘Lovers Freestyle’ and ‘Half Awake’, a track that led to Neon Music describing Romell as breathing “a new vibe into the British rap scene with a pedigree we probably attribute to other artists of a now older generation.”
“This song is a realisation for me,”Romell explains. “It’s an expression of all sorts of situations I’ve been in throughout my life. I guess it’s sort of a commentary on how I deal with things that I go through – write them down and spit them out. ‘Yesterday’s Problems’ means that I don’t have to worry about them anymore, I’ve left them in the past.”
Romell was 17 when he first discovered his distinctive tone and talent for lyricism, and after a brief stint in Bristol connecting with the city’s many underground producers, he returned to London to further develop his craft. He has since amassed hundreds of thousands of Soundcloud plays, continuing his ascent through the musical ranks with his unique, soulful sound.
Steeped in honest introspection, ‘Yesterday’s Problems’ sees Romell illustrate exactly why he is being touted as one of the UK’s most exciting young rap talents.
