After over a decade of building his reputation across the house scene, Ronnie Spiteri makes his debut on Hot Creations with ‘Double Up’, a two-track release that captures his instinct for bold, energetic and character-driven club music. A long-time admirer of the label, Ronnie’s relationship with Hot Creations stretches back to its earliest days, from experiencing Paradise countless times on the dancefloor to spending over 13 years sending music to Jamie Jones before finally arriving on the imprint: “I’ve dreamed of stepping onto Hot Creations since the label launched. I’ve been a fan from the start, buying releases and raving at Paradise as a dedicated raver.”
The title track ‘Double Up’ sees Ronnie take his production in a more unexpected direction than usual, creating a moody cut that feels instantly effective, while ‘Becca’s Booty’ completes the release with another dose of signature energy, combining skippy grooves and dancefloor-ready attitude. He notes, “When I was making ‘Double Up’, I felt an urge to push the breakdown, to make it sound weird yet catchy – something that would stand out from the rest. Once I locked that, I knew I needed a big bassline and a slick rap vocal to complete the vibe. I finished the track on Thursday and sent it to Jamie that evening. I watched him drop it b2b with Joseph Capriati at Sonar on Saturday, and by the following Tuesday it was signed, sealed, and delivered.”
A DJ, producer, label boss and event curator, Ronnie has spent over a decade building a reputation, with his ability to guide crowds earning him a notable residency at Amnesia Ibiza, and his productions landing across respected labels including Knee Deep In Sound, Abracadabra, Positiva, Do Not Sleep and more.
