Despite not releasing a solo track in over two years, Rusko has been anything but quiet. The bass legend has spent this time lighting up stages worldwide, captivating fans with his high-energy antics and dance moves behind the decks. He has energized crowds from the stages of EDC (Las Vegas and Mexico), RampageWakaan Music Festival, and Beyond Wonderland to iconic venues, including Red Rocks AmphitheatreHollywood Palladium, and Brooklyn Mirage. From the start of his career, Rusko has never shied away from delivering electrifying records and performances. Rising alongside the original U.K. dubstep movement, he helped shape the genre by delivering one of its first anthems, the raw, rave-fueled track “Cockney Thug,” which became a defining moment in dubstep, cementing Rusko’s place in bass music history. Continuing to make moves in the studio and behind the decks, he unveiled his first solo album in 2010, ‘O.M.G.!,’ containing career-defining hits such as “Woo Boost” and “Hold On.” His meticulous production prowess has led him to produce for artists such as M.I.A and crafting original remixes for Lady Gaga to Kid Sister and Sub Focus.

As Rusko is renowned for pioneering a distinctive, unforgettable bass sound that’s influenced a wave of artists, “Wassup” delivers a fresh blend of his signature wonk fused with unstoppable drum and bass energy. This track offers listeners an exciting first look into his upcoming EP, set for release next year, promising to push his innovative and unique sound and legendary status even further.

Rusko shares“‘Wassup’ was started last year on tour in Australia and ever since, has been a puzzle I couldn’t quite crack and get just right… but it’s always been stuck in my head. After adding “Wassup” into my DJ sets, I had an earth-shattering break-through, and within the first couple of nights spinning the tune, it was finished!”

Rusko is now preparing for another epic reunion with fellow bass icon Caspa. The duo will join forces for massive B2B sets, reigniting their dynamic partnership after their first B2B in eight years at Lost Lands this past year. They’ll appear at UKF15’s Drumsheds event on December 13th, with another huge performance at the Mission Ballroom in Denver on January 4th. Fans can expect nothing short of Rusko and Caspa’s OG dubstep, and stay tuned for solo performances to be announced by Rusko.

Rusko Bio

Nearly a decade ago, Rusko demanded the world to wake the fuck up, and it did. Now he’s back to push the envelope further and prove that the UK sound that made him iconic is, as powerful now as it was then.

The UK-born DJ/Producer and graduate of the Leeds College of Music pioneered the rise of dubstep, transforming it from an underground genre in urban London to an international phenomenon stretching from the UK to the US and beyond. Rusko’s gritty, genre-defining single “Cockney Thug,” as well as “FabricLive.37,” his debut collaboration album with fellow electronic heavyweight Caspa, is considered crucial to popularizing the iconic wobble of dubstep. His first solo album O.M.G.!, was largely produced on the road in 2010, with Rusko cutting tracks by day and testing them on living, breathing dance floors by night.

Rusko continues to be a unique buoy in a sea of generic, overly aggressive bass music which has largely abandoned its groove-based UK origins. Time and time again, his versatility shines through an expansive canon of music that includes definitive solo projects, collabs with legends like Cypress Hill, production for M.I.A and remixes for the likes of everyone from Lady Gaga to Kid Sister to Sub Focus.

Rusko relentlessly maintains his grasp on the cutting edge of electronic music and proves to be an unstoppable force. And the world better stay the fuck awake for new things to come.
