“RUINS” stands as a formidable entry into the modern dubstep landscape. With gritty riddim sequences, glitch-infused elements, and a surprise techno switch-up, the track delivers an unrelenting sense of menace from start to finish. There’s a sense of foreboding woven throughout the composition, making it a fierce and consuming experience that effortlessly balances weight and groove.
This single follows RZRKT’s initial appearance on the label via his collaboration “Feel Alive” with Vastive, featured on the ‘Prophecy: Vol 9’ compilation earlier this year. The track garnered attention from key dance music outlets such as EDM Identity, Heard It Here First, This Song Is Sick, and more, solidifying his place as one to watch in the bass music scene.
RZRKT is no stranger to the stage, either, providing tour support for Jessica Audiffred’s ‘Rave New World’ tour and hitting festival stops at Apocalypse: Zombieland and Blacklist. His upcoming performances at notable venues like 1111 Nightclub, Stereo Live Dallas, and The Kings Hall at Avant Gardner further cement his status as a rising force in the live circuit. Looking forward into 2025, he will be hopping along for the ride as live support (along with YOOKiE and Grabbitz) for Sullivan King’s highly anticipated ‘Chaos Will Bring Peace’ bus tour, which will include more than 40 stops across North America.
Speaking on his latest creation, RZRKT shares: “I was at a point where I felt creatively stuck. After experimenting with the pre-drop sound, I stumbled upon a rhythm that didn’t initially fit, so I set it aside. When I revisited it weeks later, it suddenly clicked, and the ideas flowed. It’s a reminder that, sometimes, you need to step away and trust that everything will fall into place when the time is right.” His instinct proved true, with none other than Excision premiering the track during his Thunderdome set, complete with custom laser production, signaling that RZRKT had crafted something special.
Drawing influences from genres like trap, psytrance, future bass, and dubstep, RZRKT has carved out a distinctive sonic identity since his debut in 2020. His first release, “Heart,” quickly became a fan-favorite, blending future bass with dubstep elements. Over the years, he’s gained support from heavyweights such as Wooli, ATliens, Marauda, DJ Diesel, and Illenium, showcasing his versatility and ever-evolving sound.
With “RUINS,” RZRKT continues to defy genre boundaries and showcase his ability to create music that resonates deeply with bass enthusiasts. As he navigates the path ahead, there’s no doubt his presence in the scene will only continue to grow.
RZRKT’s new RUINS is available on all platforms via Bassrush Records.
