Sydney-based Loveridge is a mainstay on Get Physical Music and a vital part of the Afro-house world. She has played in plenty of the best clubs and festivals, and her music has received high-profile support from Black Coffee, Jimi Jules, and Rüfüs Du Sol. Last time out, Loveridge remixed Blanka Mazimela here on Get Physical, having also collaborated with Lizwi on ‘Beka’ last year and put out a cover of REM’s ‘Losing My Religion’. For this one, she works with Johannesburg’s Kali Mija, who has already impressed on a single with Seb Wildblood this year.
Their ‘Turned To Stone’ is a spine-tingling deep house sound with soft shakers and gorgeously delicate cosmic keys sparking above subtly but resounding and joyful chords. It’s feel-good but intimate, thanks to Mija’s smoky, sultry vocals, which will bring plenty of magical and emotive moments to global dance floors.
