After a stellar string of debut singles, Samsaruh has released her first single of 2019 – ‘Subvert’; a power packed punch of soul infused rock, with Samsaruh’s killer vocals taking the song to new heights. The new single showcases again the range of Samsaruh’s rock repertoire, produced and co-written by Oscar Dawson from Holy Holy. Announced alongside the new single is the news that Samsaruh will be delivering her debut EP in mid 2019.
The Melbourne based singer-songwriter’s debut release ‘Golden To Thrive’ was added to high rotation on triple j and triple j unearthed as well as charting in the Spotify Australia Viral Charts Top 30, winning her the coveted triple j unearthed Falls Festival spot in Lorne. Samsaruh’s follow up single ‘Beautiful Killer’ took it up a notch; earning the #1 played spot on triple j and named Samsaruh the #1 unsigned artist across the station. In 2018 her singles ‘Speaking Fire’ and ‘The Beginning’ – were both added to full rotation on triple j and triple j unearthed and further cemented Samsaruh as ‘one to watch‘.
Samsaruh has also joined Peking Duk, Dean Lewis and LANKS on their respective tours, gracing the stage at This That Festival, Falls Festival, Groovin the Moo and performed her first headline east coast tour, selling out The Workers Club in Melbourne.

On writing the new single Samsaruh said, “We all have our own power and we are all equally powerful. It’s plain and simple, it’s importance is undermined quite often, it’s 12 words and it could accidentally cause a revolution, this is Subvert.
I want this song to push you when you feel powerless, to throw all your belongings on the floor so you know how to pick yourself back up, to drop you in the middle of a city you don’t know with no instructions so you know how to find yourself after loss, to shake you until you realize you lead your own life and you make your own rules, the only person or thing who has power over you, is yourself.
This song is for everyone, it’s a resounding call out, reminding you that you don’t have to bow down to anyone or anything. Most importantly, I wrote this song for the whisperers of the world. You know who you are, and I hope this song will help enlighten you with what you must do.”
