Stefan Braatz has been at the heart of the European scene since the 90s. For the last 20 years, he’s headed up Adapter Records and also works as part of Acid Jerks while releasing music on influential labels like Poker Flat, Nu Groove, and Music For Freaks. He brings his roots in 90s house and acid to a new, modern sound that keeps him right at the forefront. Scottie ‘Red Eye’ Canfield has been of similar importance to the Texan scene while working across rave, acid, electro, breaks, and more on key outlets such as Defected, Dirtybird, and Yoshitoshi, while his vocals have been in demand from artists like KiNK, FJAAK, and Justin Harris.
Their superb ‘Say Less’ is built on slow, purposeful, and deep drums with snaking acid bringing the menace and icy hi-hats harking back to early Carl Craig. A moody monologue and undulating bassline build the pressure as this dark and mysterious cut locks you into its groove. The ReDuBed is a subtle tweak with smeared pads and weighty bass designed for heads down marching.
