When it comes to robust grooves, no one has their finger on the pulse quite like Shiba San. The Parisian producer is a certified technician in the studio, having honed his craft for close to two decades and counting. He’s kept himself busy over the last few years leaving his mark on the toughest club tools that the tech house scene has to offer. A good chunk of those crowd-pleasing creations has found their way over to landmark labels from the likes of Saved, Repopulate Mars, Factory 93, VIVa, Sola, Relief and so many more. For his first original release of the year, the seasoned vet is turning to his own Basement Leak imprint to drop one of the hottest records he’s put his name on.
“I Wanna” is a heart-pounding tech house track that’s drenched in temptation. A steamy, low-slung rhythm drives the movement on a crash course with uncontrollable desire, as the track’s smooth-talking vocal croons proceed to tell it exactly like it is. Tenacious and hedonistic as all hell, the raspy vocal hook makes its intentions crystal clear, with its looped refrains spilling its guts through lyrics like “I wanna love you, can’t keep this in anymore // I wanna love you and keep lovin’, I know it could heal you.” Shiba San meets those bold declarations where they are at by building up a bed of bubbling percussive hits, moody pads, elastic basslines, frothing melodies and a sultry vibe that is impossible to keep bottled up.
Being the smooth operator that he is, Shiba San turns nature’s strongest impulse into a hot-and-bothered tech house bop that is going to keep the dancefloor in the right mood all summer long.
Shiba San’s new single “I Wanna” is available on all platforms via Basement Leak.
