Driven by Julia Church’s deeply evocative vocals, “Broken Hearted” emerges as a powerful anthem of resilience and healing. Gentle guitar melodies intertwine seamlessly with expansive synth arrangements, building toward a climax that balances graceful intensity with emotional release. Dynamic drops punctuated by modulating vocal textures and subtle riddim undertones create a memorable sonic journey that’s both compelling and cathartic.

First teased at SLANDER’s inaugural Starbase festival, where they premiered the track alongside San Holo, “Broken Hearted” rapidly became one of their most anticipated IDs, notably resurfacing during SLANDER’s landmark B2B performance with Illenium on the main-stage at this year’s EDC Las Vegas.

San Holo reveals a recent breakup led to the track’s conception, recounting: “SLANDER sent me Julia’s amazing vocals, right when I was going through a breakup. At the time, I was traveling around the world for shows and I decided to stay in Austin, Texas, for a while to isolate myself. No one goes through life without having their heart broken. This song is a reminder to keep going and hold on even when life brings you down.”

As the founders of Heaven Sent, SLANDER continues to pioneer melodic bass music on a global scale. The Grammy-nominated, platinum-certified duo’s recent release “Heaven Feels Like” with Fairlane amassed over 2.2 million streams and counting. The mighty duo recently announced their newly conceptualized ‘Voyager’ Tour, showcasing an entirely new audiovisual experience, and will include special guest appearances from Blanke, Eptic, NGHTMRE, Zomboy and William Black. The tour arrives after a string of high-profile shows including their own Code Red at Red Rocks, as well as festival plays at Beyond Wonderland at the Gorge, Lost In Dreams (Originals Only Set), Dancefestopia, Lost Lands, Shambhala, Breakaway, and more. SLANDER remains at the forefront of electronic music’s elite.

Dutch-born producer San Holo, recognized for seamlessly merging electronic elements with organic instrumentation, adds his visionary flair to the track. Currently traversing North America on his groundbreaking ‘Wholesome Riddim’ tour, San Holo has consistently redefined electronic music boundaries, praised by industry peers ranging from Porter Robinson to rock legends Rivers Cuomo and Tom Morello.

Completing this remarkable trio is Julia Church, a vocalist and songwriter with an expansive portfolio bridging indie, pop, and electronic music. The South Africa-raised, UK-based artist has contributed her signature soulful vocals to tracks with a who’s-who of electronic music, including John Summit, Gorgon City, Wilkinson, Diplo, Lane 8, and CamelPhat.

With “Broken Hearted,” SLANDER, San Holo, and Julia Church combine their individual strengths into a thoughtful exploration of melodic bass. The single underscores Heaven Sent’s dedication to emotionally resonant releases, marking another significant addition to each artist’s growing catalog.

SLANDER, San Holo, and Julia Church’s new single “Broken Hearted” is available on all platforms via Heaven Sent.
