After establishing themselves with a raw and vibrant array of releases over the last year, which have seen them supported by both local and national press, emerging alt-rock outfit Sleepy Beaucat return to their enigmatic ways on the driven new single ‘Straightjacket’.
Channelling another heady dose of that bold and blistering guitar-rock energy they are known for, ‘Straightjacket’ sees them come back with one of their most powerful offerings to date. With its subtle mix of explosive textures and more atmospheric moments, their newest release cements them as a riveting gem on the new music scene right now.
Adding about ‘Straightjacket’, they said, “It means a lot to us, this song began its journey a while back kinda setting the tone for our future as a band.”
An accompanying music video for ‘Straightjacket’ will be released on September 9th, 2022.
ABOUT SLEEPY BEAUCAT
Formed in 2019, Sleepy Beaucat began their journey when Francis got in touch with Robin and asked him if he wanted to start a band. Originally Robin was to be the other guitarist but having played drums in the past, and the original drummer never turning up to a practice, Robin slipped into the role of drummer. Then came Darren, Francis met him at a party and having heard of him through his old band Lowndes Grove and decided to ask him to join the band as a bassist. From there they started writing and began the crafting of a unique sound.
They played their first gig right as the pandemic hit. After their doors were reopened they started to record their debut single ‘Riddles and Rhymes’. Once released, they started playing shows around Northamptonshire and London, releasing more singles and eventually their debut EP with Producer/Music Professor Tony Platt (AC/DC, Bob Marley, Cheap Trick). Finally adding their close friend Eddie Butler to the band, completing their sound and the future of Sleepy Beaucat.
