Two of London’s hottest exports are teaming up for their debut on Insomniac’s sub-label IN / ROTATION via their new single, an upfront vocal-fueled rave anthem.
Smokey Bubblin’ B and Lu.Re are two London-based artists who have the underground scene caught in a vise-grip, as they continue to clamp down with their respective blends between house and UK garage. They are now fusing their strengths for “Want It To Be,” a euphoric and above board UKG collab set for release on December 9th via Insomniac’s offshoot imprint, IN / ROTATION.

Flipping real-life frustrations into a lesson about leveling up one’s interpersonal skills, “Want It To Be” is a vocal-laced chunk of speed garage that refuses to beat around the bush. Lu.Re’s infectious hooks resonate with transparency, with buttery refrains that make clear, forthright communication appealing to the senses. The unfiltered emotions are elevated by their shared rhythmic instincts, driving the message home with full-bodied basslines that bounce between swift modulating riffs and octave-shifting stabs.
Shedding light on the headspace that guided the songwriting process, Lu.Re shares, “It’s about wanting people to be upfront and say things straight. I wrote the vocal around the main line, ‘just tell me how you want it to be,’ when I was feeling frustrated with the industry, in some toxic situations. But it’s not a dark song; I wanted to flip it into something a bit tongue-in-cheek!”
Relaying his excitement around releasing the record, Smokey Bubblin’ B says, “So excited to finally get this one out! From our initial studio session, I knew myself and Lu.Re created something special.”

Lu.Re, on the other hand, has established herself as a multi-hyphenate sensation whose skillset spans the roles of producer, vocalist, songwriter, Rinse FM resident, and in-demand selector. With a distinctive singing voice and penchant for raw, razorsharp grooves, the Londoner has been touted as a ‘Future Star of 2025’ by BBC Radio 1, and has earned recognition from a host of tastemakers from the likes of Chris Stussy, Champion, Machinedrum, Skin on Skin, and Marco Carola. She’s kept herself busy on the touring front, coming off her debut headline tour in Australia and New Zealand, following previous appearances at Amnesia Ibiza, fabric, Glastonbury, Drumsheds, and more.
