A growing name within paired back house music, Son d’Étroit boss Boran Ece is steadily crafting his own sound palette fusing a wealth of wide-reaching influences. Having launched the main label in early 2021, welcoming the likes of Hannes Bieger and Mihai Popoviciu as remixers, he now launches a new project focused solely on his own original material. Set to release a new EP every six weeks, the Basel-based DJ and producer unveils SDE Digital, with the inaugural EP landing to close July as he delivers three new productions across his ‘Woodward Avenue’ EP.
Opener ‘Post Soul’ is a vocal-led slice of resonant house guided by dubby stabs and crisp percussion, while ‘Jazz Club’ fuses rich keys with hazy chords, low-slung bass, and further soulful vocal work. To close the show, ‘Riverwalk’ journeys even deeper as shadowy pads, crisp drums, and echoed samples take things firmly into after-hours territories.
