Producer / DJ / songwriter SONIKKU drops his wildly diverse, multi – genre , multi – collab album chronicling an insane rave night, ‘ Whirlwind of Malevolence ’ inc. focus track ‘ Nail Shop ’ ft. British Iranian powerhouse producer/songwriter/vocalist Orchid, out now on Bella Union.
‘ Nail Shop ’ ft Orchid : literally about having a mani cure , the combination of energy – rich, elasticated, hopping , jumping bass notes, string chords and disjointed chunks of melody, along with Orchid ’ s vibrato, breathy voice, has a ‘ J-Lo does almost – rap ’ vibe and is simply and gloriously a bundle of dancey fun.
‘ The most pop RnB song on the album , it ’ s about an imaginary someone who finds confidence from getting their nails done, almost like protective weapons ,’ says Sonikku.

‘This album is extremely varied as I wanted to include all the genres I listen to and reflect as much of my personality as possible.
