The cutting edge Los Angeles label are back with their sophomore release, another explosive compilation filled with boundary pushing electronic music from brand new female & female identifying talent. 

The first single lands on 15th September from DJ, producer, vocalist and Evar Records label head Aura T-09.

The seven track compilation features the most exciting and diverse emerging names in global dance music; Aura T-09, Baby T (B. Traits), Closet Yi, Hinako Omori, Regularfantasy, Yazzus, and music by SOS co-founders, Maddy Maia & Tottie. It’s the second release after signing to their new home, the legendary, Berlin based !K7, who boast Rhythm Section and DJ Kicks amongst their roster.

On SOS Music – Volume 2, Maddy Maia and Tottie wanted to curate something positive, uplifting and reflective of sweaty rave dance floors, whilst retaining the edge that permeated the label’s prosperous debut release, SOS Music – Volume 1, whichmade a huge impact in 2020, praised by The Wire, Gilles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, RA, Mixmag, DJ Mag & Vinyl Factory, andalso made end of year lists via Bandcamp’s Best of Electronic and Rough Trade NYC compilation of the year 2020

The first single from SOS Music – Volume 2, lands on the 15th September, and comes from DJ/producer, vocalist, Evar Records label head and recent Actress collaborator Aura T-09, who serves up a hypnotic anthem you didn’t know you needed. “A sensual, ethereal yet grounded love song about being in tune with yourself and with the present moment. It’s about appreciating what you have, and being open to identifying and receiving love” – as Aura T-09 explains it

The full seven track compilation will be available to purchase on coloured vinyl, via download, and all streaming services, and will be accompanied by an SOS North American tour composed of female and female identifying lineups.

Though only founded in 2020, SOS Music has been making waves in the independent dance community, championing female and female identifying producers worldwide as well as helping highlight the rapidly growing underground dance scene in Los Angeles. The label hosts a monthly residency on Worldwide FM with their SOS Music – Full Friday Service show, as well as regular shows on DUBLAB featuring guests such as Violet, Ivy Barkakati, Masha Mar, Nightwave and Maral to name a few, as well as guest shows on NTS, The Lot Radio NYC and Foundation FM. The label launch had superb support from press and DSPs, making the cover and curating Spotify’s editorial playlist ‘All Night’, New Music Friday UK additions, over ten Altar additions, Electric Circus, Halo and Electronic Rising. Deezer also ran an ADE special with several SOS artists + Maddy Maia’s track earned her the cover of Amazon’s Electronic Rising Artist playlist and cover. 


Baby T – The new alias of global DJ and former Radio 1 show host, B. Traits, who provides a deep and euphoric anthem for the comp. A pioneer in the global electronic community and iconic DJ for over a decade – she has played to hundreds of thousands of fans. B Traits has been covered by all tastemaker press you can imagine – highlights include Pitchfork, Dazed, RA, FACT, Radio 1 etc, The Guardian. The list is endless.

Aura T-09 – A producer and musician, whose contribution to SOS Volume 2 comes fresh off the back of her recent collaborations with electronic powerhouse Actress. Aura’s monthly DUBLAB show dives deep into experimental dance music sounds from techno, electro and regional club variants through to more experimental styles like breakcore, speedcore and IDM. Her track shows a different side to the producer and musician, displaying the breadth of her artistry.

Maddy Maia – Producer, DJ, VP of A&R for iconic indie label Ninja Tune & co-label head of SOS Music. London born, LA based Maddy has spent the past decade quietly carving out her own path and shaping the face of independent dance music. Maddy has radio residencies on Worldwide FM and DUBLAB via SOS, and, via her mostly female DJ sets, has become a key tastemaker in the LA scene. She has played everywhere from Surround to Coachella, and guested on The Lot and Rinse FM to name a few. Maddy’s first production, released last year on SOS, earned her the cover of Amazon’s Electronic Rising Artist playlist. She has future EPs planned on labels including Seb Wildblood’s imprint, All My Thoughts.

Tottie – Musician, DJ, co-founder of SOS Music and director of special projects for internationally renowned DUBLAB, has become an important figure within dance music in a very short space of time. Currently based in LA, she has been curating lineups, mixes, radio shows and DJing consistently over the last 5 years, earning her stripes as an impressive DJ and selector in LA and internationally. Tottie has played for LA based underground raves such as The Party by Ostbahnhof, Surround, as well playing international festivals like Dekmantel Selectors and Coachella in 2019. An avid electronic music fan, Tottie has a wide knowledge and is fascinated by the genre, making her DJ sets explosive. She also holds radio residencies at DUBLAB with her Across The Pond show, as well as WWFM via SOS Music.

Regularfantasy – Emerging Canadian producer, artist, label head and DJ with fans spanning the likes of Fact, Record Mag, DJ Mag, RA (making top tracks of the year in RA). She’s guest hosted multiple radio shows from Moxie’s NTS show, CC: Disco’s Rinse FM show as well as dublab and Balamii. Regular Fantasy also performed live for Refraction Festival in July 2020 – a two-week program of performances, video exhibitions, installations and audiovisual performances from contemporary artists across sound, visual and digital art. 

Closet Yi – Rising star of this year, the Korean DJ/producer and DJ has been blurring the boundaries between House & Techno for some years now, which can be heard in her many guest sets on NTS, Worldwide & Seoul Community Radio. Her new productions have been covered by Mixmag and Stamp The Wax amongst several others. Bicep are huge fans and invited her to enter their Feel My Bicep mix series which recently made RA’s mix of the day. 

Hinako Omori – Japanese multi-instrumentalist creates analogue synth inspired melodic club music, performing live for Rough Trade amongst other institutions and has a long history performing on keys with the likes of Kate Tempest, Ellie Goulding and many more. Her music has been supported at Fact, Spotify, Sequential mag, and multiple spins on 6 Music. 

Yazzus – Brand new super hot Berlin based producer and member of possibly the most exciting collective in dance right now, Sex Figure Gang- she’s been all over Pitchfork, FACT, The Face, RA and Dazed. Her most recent radio shows include guest mixes for Sherelle’s BBC Radio one Residency, NTS, and her legendary Boiler Room set back in 2019.
