Almost a year since its launch with Joe Vanditti’s ‘Wish Star,’ Ilario Alicante’s Sound D’Elite has spent twelve months welcoming a wealth of talent, including SYREETA, Sante Sansone, and VLTRA, and building its reputation as a new go-to imprint for club-ready tracks. The latest artist to join the label is Norwich-based DJ/producer Ben Graves, whose infectious basslines and catchy vocal hooks have caught the attention of heavyweights like Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati, and Mason Collective. Now, Graves steps forward with his latest two-tracker ‘Funky’, a vibrant addition to the label’s growing catalogue of dynamic, dancefloor-driven House.
The opening track, ‘Feel It’, is a smooth, side-stepping heater driven by deep, low-slung bass and sharp beats that propel this groovy trip. Next, ‘Funky’—recently road-tested by House titan Marco Carola on Pacha’s dancefloor—delivers crisp high-hats and rolling rhythms, effortlessly weaving around a funky bassline for a nostalgic, feel-good house moment.
