‘This the season… for Spotify to release statistics on the most streamed Christmas songs of all time.
Functioning as the glistening, metaphorical star atop the list is Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” clocking in as the most frequently streamed Christmas song with more than 217 million global plays. Carey expressed surprise that the seasonal track has emerged as one of her most popular records, responding “Oh my gosh, no no, never, no” when asked if she had anticipated the song’s commercial success. “I feel like this is something small compared to the rest of my catalogue,” Carey stated, “This song just continues to surprise me.”
Wham!’s “Last Christmas” registers as the second most streamed Christmas song, and Michael Bublé’s “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas” lands at third.
