Landing on Positiva/EMI, the new track is the first solo music from the British artist this year and follows 2023’s UK Top 40 chart-hitting album, ‘Evolve’. The new work premiered as one of BBC Radio 1 host Jack Saunders’ Hottest Records of the Week.
‘Wildfire’ sees the return of Jo Hill on vocals. The Somerset-based singer was last drafted for ‘Ready To Fly’, a 2023 Sub Focus & Dimension collaboration which hit the UK Top 30 and has since been certified Gold by the British Phonographic Industry.
Already a prominent feature in Sub Focus’ sets, the track has been performed at a number of major events including EDC Las Vegas earlier this year and last weekend’s DnB Allstars show at Brighton Beach with Andy C and Netsky.
“I first played Wildfire at Drumsheds at the end of last year and immediately knew from the crowd reaction we were onto something special,” Sub Focus said of the single. “It’s been the most requested song in my set for months now so what better way to kick off a new series of releases of mine.”
The music arrives alongside a visual project in which the DJ and producer has linked up with award-winning photographer Neil Krug, whose previous projects have involved Tame Impala, Bonobo, and Lana Del Rey, among others.
