Parisian duo SuperParka (Paco and Simon) will have you swaying with their utterly captivating and sexy double A-side single ‘You / Kawabunga!’ due to land 27th January through Kitsuné Musique.
They say: ‘You’ talks about showing your love in the modern world, drawing on French Touch influences and a bit of Jai Paul and Childish Gambino throwing a garage jam with way too much flanger on it. Fpor ‘Kawabunga!’ we wanted to evoke a Flying Lotus psychedelic feel, combining hip-hop cymbal bells flirting with laser synths.”
SuperParka’s music flirts between lo-fi hip-hop, garage house and RnB, with their own unique twist. Coming together in 2017, the duo’s meteoric rise has been well documented with The Line of Best Fit describing them as ‘fusing downtempo electronics with upbeat bass and remarkably chilled vocals’ on their debut mixtape / album ‘Sushi Boubou #1’ released in 2018.
SuperParka embody the DIY spirit, producing the music and creating the visuals themselves with the end product a creative smogasboard of 90s pop culture references, stoner hip-hop and a whole lot of love.
