Swiss producer Deetron returns to the legendary NYC label Nu Groove for a two-track release, ‘Runnin / AM_909’. Inspired by the soulful techno and house birthed in Detroit, Deetron’s understated sound is testament to his knowledge of the golden era of house, one that helped him to relaunch Nu Groove alongside NYC house legend Jovonn in 2021.
Now returning to one of house’s most respected labels, ‘Running’ opens this package of originals, offering a sharp house release with an invigorating piano-synth hybrid loop that builds in ecstasy, as residual noise is expertly manipulated to give and release tension. ‘AM_909’ uses loops in a similar way, this time with a more dreamlike quality that sustains.
