Originally from Aberdeen, t e s t p r e s s is a Glasgow-based duo that has gained international notoriety for pushing the limits of techno and trance, as well as the current cultural resurgence of Eurodance. Those influences are now finding their way into the floor-filling single “Push To Start,” the tech house anthem constructed by Noizu and Westend, which took off by way of Insomniac Records earlier this year.
With their remix, they employ a euphoric and high-octane drive that speeds around the earworm vocal with pulsating basslines, twinkling melodic flourishes, punchy drums, swirling synths, and a serotonin-laced euro lead. Firing on all cylinders, the rework is the optimal selection to get the dancefloor revving and roaring.
First surfacing in February, the original track has gone on to amass more than 17 million streams to date, while garnering tastemaker support from BBC Radio 1, KISS FM, Slam FM!, and many more. It has also been a staple in their respective sets ever since, with each of them touching down at a host of high-profile shows including EDC Las Vegas, Day Trip festival, Escape Halloween, EDSea, Noizu’s headline show at Hollywood Palladium.
Currently paving the way for the trance and Eurodance revival, t e s t p r e s s is as forward-thinking as they come. With cosigns coming from seemingly every conceivable angle, the duo has been championed by tastemakers from the likes of Pete Tong, Arielle Free, Danny Howard, and Sarah Story. In July, they further solidified their status as purveyors of “big dunt energy” during their venerated Boiler Room set hosted at the FLY Open Air in Edinburgh.
