The third single from Above & Beyond‘s forthcoming album ‘Bigger Than All Of Us‘ is available to stream now.
‘Start A Fire‘ originated as a deep instrumental demo, made by Paavo, which he estimates is easily seven or eight years old.
“I have a notebook that I keep for song ideas”, says McGuinness. “I had this thought a few years back, ‘There’s enough of you in me to start a fire’ and after dwelling on it for a few months I found that it worked great over a piece of music Paavo had written. I had just that one line for years, until I went to The Gorge two years and one afternoon the verses came together. I was trying to do something conversational, like one of Dire Straits love songs. I think it’s ended up being one of our favourites.”
