The Weeknd has revealed the first details about his forthcoming album, ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’. No release date has been confirmed, but a trailer has dropped online. You can watch here :
Teasers for the new record have been dropping for months, with the artist, AKA Abel Tesfaye, already revealing this as the third part in a string of LPs that began with 2020’s ‘After Hours’. ‘Take My Breath’, that album’s final single, was followed by the announcement of its sequel, ‘Dawn FM’. The second LP was then released within a matter of days. According to a statement shared on social media with the latest video clip, the forthcoming finale is “the creative apex of the project”.
“Today has felt like an endless spin,” the post read. “I keep distorting the truth, immune to the dizziness, numb to the nausea. What lies beneath — screams in silence… I look in the mirror and feel both old and new stuck in limbo and unable to move. I still haven’t faced myself… The very thing that once made me invincible failed me on the world stage. A new trauma surfaced.
“When today ends, I’ll discover who I am. HURRY UP TOMORROW.”
Next month, The Weeknd picks up on the Australian leg of his two-year-long After Hours Til the Dawn world tour, with dates in Melbourne (5th and 6th October) and Sydney (22nd and 23rd October). Prior to that, a “one-night-only” concert at Estádio Morumbi in São Paulo, Brazil, is set for this Saturday 7th September, and will stream live online.
