After several weeks of applause at the premiere of his debut album, co(m)ping, the British artist, composer and producer based in Pontevedra (Spain), thom archi releases today the official video for Slower One, one of the ten songs belonging to this first full-length duration.
Slower One was the focus track of the album and thom has told the following about it: “Possibly my favorite on the entire album. I was missing one song to finish and realized I love slow songs and haven’t included any on the album, so I started a demo and simply named it the “slower one.” When I moved on to the writing process, I decided to do what I often do: base it on the name of the demo or instrumental, and everything fell into place. I began writing about how I have always felt like the slow one or the one who needs to go at his own pace. This has happened to me in school due to ADHD-related reasons, in friendships and relationships due to trust issues, in the work environment due to fear of stress and not having time for myself, and even in sports, where I have always been a bit clumsy. But at the same time, I believe all these things have been his greatest advantage as they allow me to be very calculated, a perfectionist, calm, and always have a lot of time to think about the things that matter to me with care and intelligence. Writing this track made me realize that my way of doing things so calmly has brought me to a point where I feel I am overtaking those I felt were light years ahead of meyears ago, and finally, everything is starting to work out. As I say in the last verse, I go slow but never heavy.”
co(m)ping (Esmerarte, 2024), was released on September 13th and is available on all the streaming platforms.
The specialized and general media are welcoming the long-form with statements such as “ten themes of multifaceted creative vision, in which the author handles times and textures with a security not so common in a debutante” (Mondosonoro) or “he has not reached 25 years old and already reflects a certain amount of personal and artistic maturity within the reach of very few” (La Voz de Galicia).
This debut is a concept album with a Pop – Electronic base guided by dark sounds close to classic Post Punk along with the influence of Hip Hop that was already marked by thom’s first EP, THOMO. A good example of the musical maturity of this almost 24-year-old young man who, influenced by artists such as James Blake, Fred Again or Tyler, The Creator amazes with his compositional capacity and originality.
The album was produced by the artist himself along with Iago Lorenzo (Agoraphobia, Furious Monkey House), Iván Blanco and Gonzalo Maceira (Furious Monkey House) and was mastered by Grammy winner Robin Schmidt (Charli XCX, The 1975, Giant Rooks, $ oh Bani)
Thom arrives to be crowned in 2024 as one of the great promises of music on the national and international scene for his originality when it comes to making contemporary alternative music that music lovers will know how to savor.
In 2023, Thom debuted on the music scene with THOMO, an EP composed of five songs that marked his start and introduction to the world of music and was present at notable festivals such as O Son do Camiño, PortAmérica and Río Verbena.

Thom archi (Thomas Argibay) is a young artist born in 2000 in England, where he lived until he was 7 years old, when he went to start a new life in O Grove, (Pontevedra). He has an undefined style, although his influences are mainly based on Pop, Electronic and Hip-hop music, to name a few artists he uses as a reference: Twenty One Pilots, George Michael, The Cure and Tyler, The Creator, among many. others. The results obtained with his first EP, THOMO, more than showed the potential of this 23-year-old boy who composes and produces his own music. After some time doing covers and remixes, becoming known as a DJ and producer in clubs, festivals and on social media, Thom finally took the leap and presented his debut album this past September.
