Timmy Trumpet ‘High’

SOTD: Timmy Trumpet lifts off into space with ‘High’

Timmy Trumpet has a history of fluid musical movement across electronic sub-genres. The Australian producer’s penchant for experimenting with song creation, visible in his work on high-profile bass and big room speaker-blasters like “Toca,” and the psy-trance styled “Psy Or Die,” remains ever-perceptible on the genre-scaling DJ’s latest, “High.” The single is a tri-part effort that enlists fellow collaborators, Bliss n Eso and Lee Fields.

“High” borrows from house music, in its use of leisurely, mid-tempo BPM, and a hearty piano foundation that duly guides and steadies the song. Fields’ vocals lend an old-school sense of soul to the production. Hip-hop artists Bliss n Eso deliver laid-back verses that cut the track a modern edge.
