Tom Zeta debuts on Super Flu’s Monaberry imprint with five-tracker ‘Sa Ca La’

Exciting new live artist and drummer Tom Zeta (Diynamic, Mobilee) releases his debut EP for Super Flu’s Monaberry imprint. Starting out as a drummer, Zeta now uses live drums when performing his highly danceable percussive techno with its spacey vibe and industrial motifs.

Spotted early by Solomun, who played his demos, released his ‘Cargo’ EP on Diynamic, and is already playing ‘Sa Ca La’ at Ibiza openings, the Dutch musician has since garnered further support from the likes of Pete Tong, Super Flu, and Joris Voorn.

Hon Hon Hon’s mighty, complex percussion and distorted hissing notes enriched by a robotic vocal calling for acknowledgement of joy create an alien industrial soundscape reminiscent of a heavier, punchier Kraftwerk. Tailwind simultaneously holds you pinned and keeps you dancing with merciless drums, mysterious vocal interventions and high, clear synths.

Sa Ca La: the title track is fast, pacy, with a rattling beat heavy with hi-hat, deep bass notes and twanging echoes. You get the bonus of a boys be kko remix too. Casi Listo’s lively rat-a-tat beat and complex layers of synth notes give a more jazzy, upbeat feel, with a pizzicato breakdown leading to a full-on, take no prisoners drum-fest.

Drumming at nine years old, at fifteen, Zeta started experimenting with electronic music, adding synthesisers and analogue gear to his passion for percussion. He obtained a BA in composition and music technology at the highly acclaimed HKU in Utrecht and now gets feet pounding dancefloors worldwide.

About Tom Zeta :

Tom Zeta is one of the most exciting new live acts emerging from the Dutch scene. The Diynamic, Mobilee & Monaberry releasing talent started his career as a drummer and incorporates live drums into his performance of highly danceable and rhythmic melodic techno.

Zeta picked up the drumsticks at the tender age of 9 playing in several bands in different genres. At 15 he started experimenting on his computer, beginning to explore electronic music. Trying many genres, his love for techno music was most captivating. Taking great pleasure in composing and producing music, Tom decided to take it to the next level and started a bachelor’s in composition and music technology at the highly acclaimed HKU in Utrecht. Here, he discovered fantastic ways of making new music.

Meanwhile, his love for drumming has shifted to a love for synthesizers and other analogue gear. Tom’s tracks are characterized by their spacey atmosphere, melodic and industrial fragments. He is always in search of new electrifying sounds making his tracks slightly eccentric.

In recent years, Tom Zeta has created and perfected his live set. The unique ear catcher in his set is the incorporation of live drum pads bringing a live and dynamic element to the stage. It’s his complex and funky rhythms that set him apart from his peers and leave every dancefloor in a hypnotic state of movement.

He caught the attention of Solomun who plays his demos and releases a lot. Shortly after, Tom signed his Cargo EP to Diynamic earning Zeta support from the likes of Pete Tong, Super Flu and Joris Voorn. The future is looking bright for the Dutch live act.
