Twin brother duo MC4D paves their own genre lane with the release of their debut album ‘COMPASS’, featuring their signature ‘Folktronica’ style across collaborations with artists like Aloe Blacc, Sam Feldt, Clara Mae, Walk Off The Earth, Dustin Lynch, Frank Walker, and Łaszewo.
In an age of dance music largely dominated by house and bass subgenres, MC4D has focused on establishing a style of their own that stands apart in the current EDM landscape while sounding so warmly familiar. With the release of ‘COMPASS’, the duo are championing their unique electronic production combining indie and melodic-house influences. The album is led by “Still Got Time” featuring Clara Mae, an emotional, euphoric track that blends soaring toplines with MC4D’s folk-leaning electronic production. It’s a strong entry point into a project that sits between festival-ready dance music and more introspective, crossover pop. The duo spent the last 2 years touring North America, writing and producing ‘COMPASS’ to capture the freedom and energy of the national parks they roadtripped, as well as their stories along the way. Reminiscent of Avicii’s folk-inspired anthems from the ‘golden era’ of EDM, the record holds mass appeal for both indie and electronic music fans alike.
“COMPASS is the culmination of the last three years we’ve spent developing and refining our sound. We drew upon the indie, folk, alternative, and electronic influences that inspired us when we first started making music to create a style that we feel truly stands apart in today’s EDM landscape. We aimed for the album to capture the melodic storytelling that dance music has largely lost, and we’re excited for the album’s nostalgic yet fresh production to resonate with young new and legacy EDM, folk, and indie audiences alike. We’re proud that we’re forging our own path with COMPASS, choosing not to chase current trends but to build our vision and community around something different. We couldn’t be more excited that years of work are culminating in this project, and we can’t wait for the new chapter that it will mark.” — MC4D
The new album — which has already amassed over 50 million streams to-date pre-release — includes MC4D’s hit singles “Hey Son” (with Sam Feldt & Aloe Blacc), “You Take Me Home” (with Walk off the Earth), “Be Here With Me Now” (with Łaszewo & gavn!), and “Afterlife” (with Elliot Greer), as well as collaborations with Dustin Lynch, The National Parks, and Frank Walker among others, solidifying MC4D’s stamp on the crossover appeal of the melodic EDM and indie-folk genres. The duo wrapped a momentous 2025 with their ‘Wanderings’ Fall Headline Tour across select US markets including a sold-out show at NYC’s iconic Irving Plaza, as well as major festival performances at Northcoast,Project Glow, Sand In My Boots, Breakaway, Calgary Stampede, and Riverbeat. 2026 continues to present an exciting year for MC4D across their upcoming music and touring — with major festival performances this summer including Lollapalooza and Escapade Music Festival, as well as a run of free-for-fans ‘Open Air Sessions’ pop-up shows across the US, this is the year MC4D starts to bring melodic EDM back into the mainstream.
