London-based house duo Ryuken today release nostalgic new UK rave house single “Pioneer”. Driven by ‘90s synth flourishes, bouncing bass, and the emotive vocals of UK artist Maddy Carty, “Pioneer” is out now and streaming everywhere via Good Enuff.

When making this track we wanted to pay homage to some of our favourite producers like Armand Van Helden and some of our favourite genres like speed garage, rave, jungle, etc., so we tried to incorporate those sounds together with Maddy’s vocals,” Ryuken explains.

Making music since the early days of UK garage, cousins Aaron Doyle and Jeff Cox, AKA Ryuken, have kept themselves busy with their own separate musical endeavors over the years between releasing records, launching record labels, producing under different aliases, and playing clubs across the UK.

It wasn’t until discovering their shared passion for bass-heavy house music that the two formed Ryuken in 2016 with one goal in mind—to make good house music of all forms. It didn’t take long to make an impact on the underground scene with the release of “Let’s Turn it Up” on Hervé’s label Cheap Thrills, and they’ve since continued to thrive with their evolving, bass-heavy brand of house music with regular placement on the Beatport Charts, iTunes dance charts, spins on BBC Radio 1 and more, with consistent releases on labels such as Good Enuff, Juicy Music/Armada, SIC/Warner, Skint/BMG, Champion, New State Music, Blanco y Negro, Bingo Bass and Sleazy G, and their tracks featured on compilation albums including Blanco y Negro’sAnual 2018 and DJ Culture Vol.30, and New State Music’s Pure Running 2017 and 100% House.
