From a young age, Behdad Nejatbakhshe has been guided by traditional Persian music with a French touch. Finding a resonance in the Iranian freedom struggles against the fundamentalist regime, Uppermost focusses on respecting these influences while establishing positive emotion with his music. Label boss, DJ, and producer, all of his creative energy happens within his home town of Bordeaux, France. Recently expanding into the world of filmography, Uppermost’s track, ‘Love’ was featured in an uplifting project directed by Joseph Carlin from Transfixion.

Creating music that cavorts between Nu Disco and the signature French Touch on House music, Uppermost finds inspiration from artists such as Bon Iver, Floating Points, Lane 8, and Crazy P. The resulting pay off brings his music in comparison to Tycho, Petit Biscuit and Madeon.

Cascading chimes greet the listener as ‘Every Human Is An Artist’ begins, and the bass continues to build. The light vocals layered over the rhythmic bass assist in elevating the track to the positive experience that the producer seeks to create. As one has come to expect from Uppermost, an ebb and flow carries the track into a cheerful escapade, encouraging a sense of adventure and wonder.

Uppermost confided with us his expectations and hope for humanity. “I have the feeling that every human being has a huge creative potential that can be expressed in a million different ways, I composed this track as a way to celebrate the beautiful power of plurality that makes sharing so important for all of us.”
