Detroit’s Tyke makes his debut on Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars with the ‘1,2 Roller’ EP this May, continuing a steady run of form that’s seen him release on Hottrax, Mood Child, and Tamango. His sound folds in minimal and deep tech while staying rooted in groove, and his latest release showcases another original exploration of deep dancefloor dynamics with real personality, already picking up support from names like Yaya, Joshwa, and more.
“I’m really excited to be releasing this EP with Repopulate Mars. It’s been a target label of mine for quite some time, so this moment means a lot. The label is home to so many legendary tracks and continues to push the sound forward, so it’s a real honor to be part of it. I wanted this EP to live in that darker space: built for the club, but equally effective outside of it. Basslines that ‘talk’ to the listener, drums that groove, and synths that pull you in.” – Tyke
Title cut ‘1,2 Roller’ opens with snappy tech drums and rapped vocals that bring plenty of attitude. A buzzy lead cuts through the mix, building tension while fat bass keeps things rooted – it’s a bold, lively cut with rich sound design. ‘Can’t Stop’ follows with a nimble, funky bassline beneath crisp percussion and a cooing female vocal. ‘Got Caught’ closes out the EP with future-facing tech energy, pairing taut bass twangs, ass-shaking grooves, and R&B samples that will detonate any party.
Tyke ‘1,2 Roller’ EP drops via Repopulate Mars on 15th May 2026.
