Share intimate live session for ‘Tomorrow’

Taken from new EP ‘Consume & Grow’ due May 2021

London based indie-electronic Portuguese duo Vaarwell share an intimate live session for new track ‘Tomorrow’, lifted from the forthcoming EP ‘Consume & Grow’ due to land in June 2021.

‘Tomorrow’ is the first song written after the band’s move to London. The song delves into the complex topic of depression, trying to lift up a loved one from a dark place and provide some light and support. They say: “’This was the first song we wrote from scratch since moving to London. It follows the EP’s theme of nurture and care, and delves into the complicated topic of depression. I’ve been lucky to never had gone through it but have had so many people close to me struggle with depression. As an outsider to the disease and as a friend/family member, I have felt quite helpless at times, when all I wanted was to help and try to lift them up – even if naively so. I tried to write a song about this journey – acknowledging what they’re going through and validating the struggle, whilst trying to provide warmth, nurture and a feeling of company in the process of improving their mental health.”

Since Vaarwell’s formation, the duo has received support from BBC Radio1, BBC6 Music, NHK (JPN) and P3 Sveriges (SE) as well as accolades from tastemaker press Stereogum, Complex, Clash and The Line of Best Fit.

They have also collaborated with Xinobi, co-writing and singing in the single ‘Far Away Place’, with over 5M streams on Spotify and placements on Netflix’s original series “Trinkets” and Grand Theft Auto 5 Online.

Following the success of their second EP ‘Early Rise’ (2019) and the singles, ‘No Place for You’ and ‘False Promises’, Vaarwell performed at festivals such as SXSW, Waves Vienna, Rock in Rio Lisboa, Vodafone Paredes de Coura and NOS Alive.

Since their move to London in late 2020, the duo have written and self-produced a 4 track EP, ‘Consume & Grow’, to be released May 2021. The electro-pop record is a reflection of their new polished sound, influenced by the city’s atmosphere and the UK based electronic, alt-pop, r&b, and hip-hop music scene.

‘Tomorrow’ is out now on all digital platforms.
