Brazil’s Victor Arruda returns to Rod Brito’s Red Room this August with single ‘Cortéx’, following his recent appearance on the label remixing a track by Brito, who now returns the favour with a rework of his own. Arruda’s original blends steamy Latin flavours with a driving tech house groove built for the floor. Subtle percussive flourishes and soulful vocal mantras bring warmth and colour, while a knotted bassline pushes steadily to the fore. On the remix, Rod Brito adds deeper textures and slinky tech house energy before loved-up piano chords lift the track into euphoric territory.
Victor Arruda is one of the Brazilian underground’s finest exports and a regular at iconic clubs like Warung and Green Valley. His melodic, groove-led sound has landed on labels including 3 Degrees Records, Sonido Profundo, Stripped Digital, and Red Room.
