Vinyl Sales Top Streaming Services in New Report
A new report from Josh Friedlander at the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) reveals that through mid-2015, vinyl sales are outperforming a number of streaming services. In fact, according to stats, vinyl sales have gone up 52% since the last report by the RIAA. They’ve surpassed YouTube and Vevo among others.
A full report shows that track sales still dominate over album sales and vinyl accounts for 30% of all physical shipments.

According to the report, “SoundExchange distributions grew 20% to $387 million, an all-time high for the first half of the year. On-demand ad-supported streaming grew 27% y-o-y to $163 million for the period, also an all- time high for the first half of the year.”
