APPLE MUSIC LAUNCHES IN CHINA FOR EQUIVALENT OF $1.50 A MONTH

When Apple Music launched in 100 countries on June 30, there was one very notable name missing from its list: China.
The Cupertino firm has now confirmed that Apple Music – alongside iTunes Movies and iBooks – will be launching in the region on September 30.
Apple said in a statement that Apple Music in China would “feature music from artists including Eason Chan, Li Ronghao, JJ Lin and G.E.M., as well as a wide range of international artists including Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and many more”.
“Customers in China love the App Store and have made it our largest market in the world for app downloads,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services.
“One of the top requests has been more great content and we’re thrilled to bring music, movies and books to China, curated by a local team of experts.”

Like the rest of the world, music fans in China will be able to join a three-month trial membership of Apple Music from September 30, after which a 10 RMB/month subscription fee (US $1.57) will apply.
There will also be a family plan providing service for up to six family members available for just 15 RMB/month ($2.36)
Movies on iTunes will be available starting at 5 RMB for rental in HD and 18 RMB to buy new releases in HD. Paid iBooks start at 0.5 RMB.Music Business Worldwide
