VNSSA Returns to Higher Ground With New Release ‘Touch Me’

One of California’s finest house/techno exports, VNSSA, is back on Diplo’s Higher Ground with another scorching release, ‘Touch Me’, out today.  A true peak-hours warehouse belter that summons massive energy with its deep bassline and ravey acid elements, the track marks her third release on the label following ‘Music4TheMasses’ and ‘Rave Grave’ with Walker & Royce.

From releasing music on some of the country’s most forward-thinking house labels (Dirtybird, Rules Don’t Apply, Slothacid, Techne), constantly touring from coast to coast, and recently starting her own ‘Super Creep’ radio show, which airs on SiriusXM (via Diplo’s Revolution), VNSSA has been one of America’s most sought after artists in the genre. Her sound doesn’t stop there, however, as she also dabbles in breakstechno, and disco

“My biggest influence on this track was late 90’s dance”, VNSSA said about the release. “I was listening to a lot of Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Underworld, Orbital, and Faithless at the time, and I wanted to make something that had that vintage rave feel, told in my voice,” she added.

VNSSA’s musical beginnings started in Newport Beach, California, where she played the drums in local rock and indie bands for several years before venturing into dance music. She began to DJ at house parties before getting tapped by local clubs and then throwing her own DIY parties. It wasn’t long after that she began playing shows in Los Angeles, and in a mission to follow her dreams, permanently relocated to the city. She became a resident at house music hot spot Sound Nightclub, and in 2018, she debuted her first original release. She’s since become a household name for house music across the US.

Throughout the remainder of 2023, VNSSA will be trekking back and forth around the country on her Hell Freezes Over Tour, hitting major venues like Elsewhere in New York City, The Church in Denver, and the Club Space Terrace in Miami. She’ll also be playing major festivals such as Outside Lands, Seismic Dance Event, and Imagine.

Following recent releases from Carlita & Calussa’s ‘Fell N Luv’ to JADED’s ‘Mirror (feat. Indira May)’, Higher Ground continues its reputation as the preeminent label of electronic music with VNSSA’s ‘Touch Me’.
