US-based hard dance producer WATER SPIRIT is teaming up with Canadian hard techno producer and vocalist ANGEL CANNON to release their latest single,“REZURRECTION 2007,” set to be released via Basscon Records on September 6th.

A blast from the past, “REZURRECTION 2007” pays homage to the jumpstyle and shuffling era from the mid-aughts. The track features anthemic melodic bounces, a calling card from the heyday of said generation. Its main hook hammers through plucky low-end elements, pulsating synths, distinctive cawing vocal samples, laser fills, and powerful kick drums, with each section creating a time capsule for the vibrant music and dance culture of the time.
Expressing a deep connection to the track, Water Spirit states, “‘REZURRECTION 2007’ captures the energy of the early 2000s jumpstyle and shuffling scene we grew up watching—blending nostalgia with crisp, modern production. It’s a throwback to the beats that shaped us and turned us into the producers we are today.”
ANGEL CANNON shared similar sentiments, stating, “It is an emotional callback to the sound of the late 2003 – early 2010s hardstyle music and shuffle culture.”
Water Spirit has been riding the hard dance movement happening Stateside. They’ve been making waves in the hardcore and uptempo music scene with their hard-hitting productions and equally attention-grabbing visuals, which are created by the artist themselves. They’ve been a familiar face on the label since 2021, with a string of singles and two-trackers including ‘CHAOS EUPHORIA / IMPULSION’ and the more recent ‘Bend Reality / It Haunts.’ They are gearing up for upcoming headline shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and will also be providing support for Kutski in Austin.
On the other hand, ANGEL CANNON is a producer and vocalist recognized for firing off high-caliber hard techno tracks. His music has been supported by 999999999, RIAN WOOD, Skrypton, and H! DUDE, and he will be making his US debut at Escape Halloween at NOS Events Center in SoCal next month.
With “REZURRECTION 2007,” the two producers have crafted a transportive track that is sure to tug at the heartstrings of early ravers and shufflers alike.
