Wheats brings bass weight and fractured rhythms back to BOX RED with ‘EVERYTHING’S GOOD’.

A young man with a beard wearing a black cap and a dark shirt with a white collar, looking upwards against a plain white background.

Wheats has a knack for making specific details and sounds hit the hardest. Around the heavy basslines that have become his signature, glitchy sounds and tightly worked percussion give his productions their distinctive bite. On ‘EVERYTHING’S GOOD’, the UK DJ/producer and label boss explores four shades of that sound, returning to his own BOX RED imprint with a release that gives both its weight and its intricacies room to register.

Ella Turner features on the title track, while Cae joins him on ‘SHUTDOWN’, with ‘M.U.D’ and ‘MIND GAMES’ completing the EP. Across the four, hard-hitting rhythms meet warped electronic touches and low frequencies that carry plenty of physical force, drawing on the glitchy, bass-heavy character he’s refined over the years.

Repeated Solid Grooves appearances at DC-10 and sets for Eastenderz at Hï, Paradise at UNVRS, and UNLÍSH at Cova Santa marked a summer that also saw Wheats expand his curatorial work. July brought the first edition of WYTWOODS, the two-day Isle of Wight festival he co-founded, bringing his experience running BOX RED to a festival setting, while his studio output kept pace in tandem with two label debuts in the form of ‘Eternal’ on UNLÍSH and ‘What I Might Do’ on Disorder.

Wheats ‘EVERYTHING’S GOOD’ EP drops via BOX RED on 30th October 2026.
