Bay Area-based WINK and Arizona’s nikko are fusing their complementary styles and sounds to serve up their new statement-making collaborative EP. The five-track ‘SEEING DOUBLE’ release arrives amidst the 14th season of releases on NIGHTMODE. The project builds off the success of the solo singles “VERTIGO” (WINK) and “CAN’T GET ENOUGH” (nikko), which are both sitting back-to-back at the heart of their new EP.

’SEEING DOUBLE’ shows the two sensational talents coming into focus as one unstoppable entity. From start to finish, the dynamic pairing stays true to form as they set their sights on a host of varying influences from across the dance music spectrum. The level of finesse they’ve achieved at hopping between disparate genres is almost inhuman, with the three co-produced cuts “LOOKIN FOR YOU,” “MERCY,” and “GLIMPSE” carrying remnants of trap, bass house, hard dance, jersey club, deep dubstep and everything in between. It’s an epic journey-like five-track offering constructed with so many switch-ups and cohesive sonic transitions that might make it challenging to see straight after one no-skip listening session.
In commemoration of their joint EP, WINK and nikko will be hosting an extremely limited release pop-up party at hed.space in Los Angeles on the night before it drops. Attendees will be able to get an exclusive first-listen to the music, as well as see the two artists in all their genre-blurring glory.
Already earning massive cosigns and landing impressive touring looks from their solo endeavors, all eyes seem to be locked in on WINK and nikko. They have both been recruited to join trap godfather RL Grime on his current ‘I Touched Grass” Tour across North America. On the back of the run of shows, they will be riding on the hype with official remixes for the Sable Valley label-boss. Separately, WINK has dropped a collab with Juelz, has been featured in two livestream videos with the women-owned and -led creative and live events group DEF, and has supported PEEKABOO on his ‘Eyes Wide Open’ Tour. On the other hand, nikko has been hammering out nonstop heat with tracks alongside Shadient and beastboi., in addition to earning tastemaker from a laundry list of A-listers including DJ Snake, Alison Wonderland, 4B, Henry Fong, Hamdi and the goes on. With both artists on similar ballistic trajectories and sharing a genreless approach to their craft, it was only a matter of time before they pulled the trigger on a joint release of this magnitude.
Defying genres, breaking sonic barriers, and raising the bar for electronic music, ‘SEEING DOUBLE’ illustrates why WINK and nikko are two artists to keep watching over and over again.

Amir Schmuecker, pka WINK, is an 18-year-old producer of Middle Eastern descent, hailing from the Bay Area, CA. It’s early days for this young gun, but the excitement is palpable. His first-ever show with Brownies & Lemonade saw the crowd erupt with blistering energy as he played a slew of unreleased cuts and hyped IDs.
