“Take Me Down” is an immersive auditory experience that traverses genres and moods, all while carrying the weight of an unforgettable anthem. An uptempo, hypnotic melody sets the stage as vocal bends drift in, giving the track an emotional pull. The brooding intro allows Cook’s sweet yet resilient vocal croons to serve as a focal point. The tension builds before exploding into a high-octane trap drop driven by gritty low-end, filthy melodic flourishes, and metallic percussion. The ever-evolving journey flirts with hints of future bass, as angelic vocal chops float across shimmering synths before building into an epic finale. Tearing down conventional genre constraints, the track hits its apex via a festival-ready progressive house section refined with an uplifting, nostalgic elegance. “Take Me Down” is an inspiring mixture of their respective styles, and serves as a reminder that nothing can stand in the way of true destiny.
Emphasizing the contact points that make this collaboration so unique, yetep shares his excitement around the chance to work together with them again, saying, “This is our second song together, and I think ‘Take Me Down’ really shows off what makes us special. It brings together the old, the new, and who we are right now.”
Shedding light on the creative process and his account on how the collaboration came to be, if found explains: “After the success of ‘Mistakes’ we all agreed to run it back. yetep had an amazing set scheduled for Escape later in 2023, so we got to work immediately to make something that would become a special moment in a highlight performance, having both Casey Cook and me out on stage with him in front of a packed crowd at mainstage. yetep and I knew we both wanted to bring our unique styles to the song, leading off with a heavy trap first half, and then transitioning to an uplifting progressive house drop—mirroring our unique tastes and exemplifying the meaning of the lyrics written by Casey.”
Speaking on how the track pulls together their unique styles, Casey Cook says, “After the response dropping our collab ‘Mistakes,’ we decided to go for round two. ‘Take Me Down’ is such a unique blend of all of our styles and has a diverse mix sonically— from angst to euphoria—showcasing trap to progressive house, giving it a nostalgic flare while feeling fresh at the same time. We’ve gotten to perform this at festivals and shows the past couple years and it’s gone OFF every time. Super excited to finally have this out in the world.”
Championing connective and emotive music, L.A.-based producer yetep continues to impress the music industry via innovation and individuality. He’s a regular on the label, with previous singles “Hollow” and “Alive” earning radio plays from Illenium, Alison Wonderland, JVNA, NGHTMRE & SLANDER, ARMNHMR, and Pixel Terror. He is a standout in the melodic bass genre, landing performances at Lost In Dreams, EDC Orlando, and Lights All Night. More About if found
if found is the recording alias of Carson Maki, an LA-based electronic music artist who combines cross genre influences to create a refreshing and dark hybrid of trap, dance and bass music. Launched in 2019 and influenced by a range of artists and styles such as RL Grime and Blink-182, the if found project infuses electronic-heavy trap music with dance-inspired melodies and driving basslines bathed in a punk aura. His debut performance at EDC Las Vegas 2021 generated buzz and intrigue for the ascending artist, and the project has seen early streaming success with +27M streams to-date on Spotify alone. Melodic powerhouse, SLANDER, and if found debuted their melodic bass collaboration at Lights All Night in Dallas, TX, December 30, 2021 with the song landing on Billboard’s EDM chart at #28 for two weeks, and his official remix of Gryffin’s “Best Is Yet To Come” has been a staple of Gryffin’s set for the 2021-24 festival seasons, generating 500k streams within a week. 2024 was a year of transformation for the if found project, as Carson rolls out his new self-released EP titled WORTH.the.CRASH and had his busiest touring season thus far (17+ dates). The 6-track, independently-released EP marked an important shift in the style and ethos of if found and displays a new visual and sonic focus on underground elements of after-hours raving, reckless abandon, and darker themes like loss, addiction and betrayal. Moving into 2025, Carson has placed a renewed focus on if found’s social media presence and releasing his long backlog of road-tested and approved music. With early support from bass heavyweights such as DJ Diesel and more, Carson looks to further cement his legacy as a top-tier producer and budding artist.
