Engineered to incite peak-time dancefloor commotion, “PEDAL 2 THE METAL” is a hardcore techno assault from three of America’s finest. The record rips forward straight off the line. Slamming zaag bass, reverse kick madness, and ravey breakbeat fakeouts all work together to create a no-breaks, full-throttle single ready to unleash mayhem.
Dead X has assumed the role of chief flagbearer for the hard dance scene in the States. The LA-based producer proudly represents the global genre, as the diehard patriot injects a distinct punk rock defiance across uptempo, rawstyle, and hardcore—a ferocious regimen he’s hellbent on indoctrinating the USA masses.
Emerging from California’s capital, Yosuf is a hard dance export putting Sacramento on the map. Pure American-made muscle, he’s an avid bodybuilder dedicated to sculpting the hard dance community with the same tenacity he uses to hit his reps in the gym.
No strangers to the imprint, Dead X has released four singles on the label since 2022, while Yosuf has released three of his own. Their previous collaboration, “Voyage” has amassed more than 1 million Spotify streams. Both artists are tagteaming select stops of Lil Texas’ North American Tour, an uncompromising hardcore experience cementing their foothold across the continent.
Dead X shares the story behind the record’s explosive origin: “Yosuf decided to crash on my couch the same weekend DØMINA and I were slated to work on a long-awaited collab. Within an hour of being in the studio, all three of us realized we were on the same page with this track idea, and it turned into an all-day, all-night session. Each of us added our individual touch, and it turned into something special. We knew it was a banger when I played it in a set the following night, and the crowd response was unforgettable.”
Completing the trio, Los Angeles-based DØMINA has become a conduit for venomous, European-fueled techno. Her razor-edged sound was showcased across two singles on the label last year—”Medication” and “Louder”—collectively surpassing 1 million Spotify streams. The pieces of the live side have also been falling into place, with headline shows already in the bag at The Fruit (NC), Blackbox, Sebright Arms London, Harbour Theatre, Substance, Simulation, and Avalon Hollywood as part of Insomniac’s Mutate event series.
