London-based collective YOURS return to their debut album What’s Mine Is YOURS with the release of a previously unheard and unseen live session recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. The group comprise of esteemed vocalist Maverick Sabre, GRAMMY-nominated producer New Machine, Sonny Hall and creative lead and fashion designer, the late Jake Hall.
Originally recorded and filmed in June 2024 in Studio Three as part of the album campaign, YOURS – Live At Abbey Road captures the UK collective performing seven tracks from What’s Mine Is YOURS in one of the world’s most iconic recording spaces.
The session is available digitally and as a full performance video on YouTube, with all profits from the release going to Jake Hall’s daughter.
Released in September 2024, YOURS’ debut album received critical acclaim with Notion describing the collective’s sound as “a rich mix of influences and backgrounds that sets YOURS’ musical output apart from the rest”.
The seven-track performance brings together singles ‘CALLING’, ‘DÓNDE ESTÁ’, ‘DON’T KNOW WHERE I’M GOING’ and ‘OUR LOVE (80’S)’, alongside album tracks ‘What’s Mine Is YOURS’, ‘LOVE MIGHT MAKE ME BETTER’ and ‘PLEASE DON’T LET ME DOWN’.
Reimagined as one continuous arrangement, the session showcases YOURS alongside a live funk band featuring leading UK musicians Cartell Green-Brown, Fabio De Oliveira, Obi Franky, James Mckone, Ben Mckone, Rashaan Brown and Laurence Wilkins.
New Machine also played the guitar and piano while providing vocals alongside Maverick Sabre and Sonny Hall.
This special live session also captures the collective’s artist and visual lead Jake Hall painting an abstract piece in his signature style to accompany the recording – this work has been chosen as the official release artwork.
YOURS – Live At Abbey Road offers a new perspective on the group’s LP What’s Mine Is YOURS, bringing the album’s songs into a live studio setting while highlighting the collective’s musicianship and collaborative approach.
YOURS – Live At Abbey Road premieres on YouTube today, Friday 30th October.
