14-YEAR-OLD MARTIN GARRIX DJ HIS SCHOOL DANCE
Martin Garrix’s recent premiere of an exclusive documentary with MTV helped to tide fans over some while they await the details of his debut album, expected to drop this year. And in the meantime, we thought it would be fun to look back again at a video uploaded last summer of a pre-“Animals” moment in the young producer’s then-still-budding career.
The video shows Garrix DJing at his school dance throwing down Far East Movement’s “Like a G6” in what was likely one of his earliest performances. The Dutch producer got a total kick out of the video when it was first discovered and responded on Twitter pointing out that he was around 14 years old at the time.
The video was an awesome find and shows the humble beginnings of one of dance music’s youngest and brightest stars. Props, Martin!
